Mehmet Uzel could not have a more perfect last name for his line of work. He says the closest way of translating it from his mother tongue, Turkish, is 'skilled hands'. From a third-generation olive-producing family near Bursa, Turkey, Mehmet says the name ‘Uzel’ comes from his grandfather who started the olive farming business. “[The name] fits the company Uzel Olive and Olive Oil because olive cultivation and picking requires skilled hands.”

Olives, oils and soaps are all produced from this one little olive grown high above sea level on the hills near Bursa. The unique olive features an 85% meat body, small seeds and is the only olive that isn’t harvested until it turns black on the tree.
