Enjoy great charcuterie plates at these Ottawa restaurants

Enjoy great charcuterie plates at these Ottawa restaurants

This restaurant takes pride in offering dishes that are inspired by local, sustainable, and fresh foods. Just about everything is made in-house. For just $12 during happy hour, you can enjoy a selection of three house-made charcuterie boards that include bread, mustard and pickled sides. Pair that with a flight of five locally crafted draught beers, and you’ll be in for a great night.

Get the gang together for Ottawa’s top chicken wings

Get the gang together for Ottawa’s top chicken wings

In addition to a unique and cozy dining area with a decent amount of seating, this spot offers an excellent wing dish. You will be guided to your seat by some of the friendliest staff in town so you can quickly dig into the Picnic Meal. Included with this meal are wings with plenty of smoky flavour and an excellent hot and sweet sauce. Also included with your wings are grilled carrots, potato salad and even pickled watermelon.

Size matters: Best small plates in Ottawa

Steve Harris and Emily Ienzi – life and business partners – helm one of Ottawa’s hippest hangouts, full of edgy war-themed art and repurposed barn board. But it’s the food at this two-level, 65-seat Little Italy eatery that matters. All of it, even the relishes, is grown locally and made from scratch. Its “fun food” is always a hit: deep-fried foie gras pogos, for example, or a burger topped with foie torchon and tomato bacon jam. For drinks, try the urban sombrero that blends everything from cucumber to ginger beer with tequila. Please note they're closed on Tuesdays.
