This is our new go to, hands down. Amazing service, our order was perfect and delicious. Job well done.
Food is ok. Hygiene is terrible. Cockroach is crawling underneath your table. I stopped going there again.
Wait 1 hour for the food and they all came at the same time. And then wait another 40 mins and second batch came at the same time. I will not recommend this place.
While out on a walk in the woods, we felt like having sushi..looked it up on ypg app on my phone and found this place, but their menu was not on the app, so we had to go home, go online to their website to get it...wish it was on the app, so we could've ordered right away for take out...we were hungry! Overall, the food was reasonably priced and was great.
This is my first time to Asano Resturant in Burlington, amazing and tasty sushi, good atmosphere, reasonable prices, and great service. We can't find a decent sushi place in Milton so we had to drive to Burlington. Would definitely come back again. A+++
I visited a few times recently, despite the negative reviews about service. I was pleasantly surprised by how attentive the staff are. I would venture to guess that they have responded to the service complaints. Having said that, some of the staff don't speak English so that can be a challenge. However, the food is very good. Their rolls are nicely done, and so is the dim sum stuff. I like this place a lot.
Worst sushi ever...ordered take out...came delivered WARM!? There was goey mayonaise sauce over everything...rolls falling apart because of the warm rice - everything was just mushed all together...nothing seemed fresh. One friend ordered noodles dish- no flavour at all- so bland. We ended up tossing everything after a few bites and ordered pizza
I love this place. When my kids get to pick where to go...this is the place they pick. Food is great and service is great. My only con would be that I always leave too full.
Hi Asano Owner, let me give you an advice: you need to start thinking to get the right staff and train them having a good manager. Sushi is not bad, lot of "imitation crab meat" and tiny sashimi pieces. At the end of the day (or the meal) it is a very expensive place since for 7 we paid almost 200 dollars and we didn't eat too much due the order was missed 3 times. I don't recommend this place at all. I hope you will be able to improve the service soon.
Overall the service kills the experience. It was slow, we received someone else's order, missed half of our order, and never got additional drink orders. The sushi was edible but really sub-par. The sashimi pieces were very small, the tappanyaki| tasted like it was pre-prepared, frozen and re-heated, the crab was actually strips of pollock straight out of the vacuum packed plastic it came in, and the sushi pizza was completely covered in mayonnaise. In the end given they forgot about us and our food order we left before desert. I would never go back and never recommend it to anyone.
Sushi Asano is our go-to for take-out sushi. We do not go to sit-down so I can not comment on dine-in service, but take out is excellent. Quality of food, and service is always good. My husband calls ahead on the way home from work, and then just swings in to pick up on the way home. We are always really happy with our sushi and the take-out experience.
I've eaten at a lot of sushi restaurants in my time but I have never come across one with such a delicious array of food and helpful staff. I visited with my boyfriend (who had never had sushi before), my sister and her husband. Not only did our food come out quickly and the staff assist us with orders, but this restaurant has turned my boyfriend into a sushi lover. Since our visit, we have tried some other sushi restaurants around Burlington but none of them compare (one had us wait for 40 minutes before we even ordered on a Tuesday night). We are now regular diners at Sushi Asano! If you are new to the sushi scene, this is a great place to start. They offer traditional sushi, as well as other Japanese fares (think chicken teriyaki, steak and mushrooms, fried noodles, vegetable tempura). A guaranteed great meal!
I visited Sushi Asano with a group of friends for the all you can eat dinner. We had been there once before for lunch, but we were also the only customers in there so it was hard to ignore us. Our experience at lunch was opposite from what we experienced at dinner. We were seated on time but after we took our first order we rarely got a chance to talk to the waitress because she seemed to avoid our table. When our food was finally dropped off it did not come on time and half the things we ordered did not come at all. On one instance I received a plate of food I had ordered 40 minutes earlier while the rest of the people at my table had already ordered dessert. As a result I couldn't order dessert at the same time, and when I finally got to order they forgot about it. 20 minutes later I asked the waitress for my bill, and 10 minutes later we still hadn't gotten it. We finally got fed up and stood up from our table and paid for our bill at the front. Overall I would not recommend going to this restaurant if you want to actually eat all you can eat, or if you need to be somewhere in 2 hours.
My colleagues and I had a business meeting at the Sushi Asano Restaurant and was completely appalled by the lack of service provided to us. This not only overshadows the quality of food but it completely ruined the experience. An example was the slow service and the amazingly small portion of food received. I had to call the server numerous times to gain their attention. I would highly recommend the competition over this tainted establishment for true asian cuisine.
I've made it my duty to compare all of the Japanese restaurants in town, and so far, this one has the best food. They don't go cheap on the maki. It's very satisfying and attractive food. My complaints is that the table beside us stayed dirty the whole time we were there (nice ambiance) and we were ignored most of the time, except to top up our waters. They were very diligent about that one :p
I went with my husband, 2 year old daughter & another couple tonight for dinner. Waited almost an hour for a table, then they finally seated us, and didn't give us menus... took them 10 minutes to take our drink orders, when we asked for menus they told us they were out!!! Then we waited another 10 minutes, got up, and went for burgers instead.
This is an example of a great looking restaurant with nice food that I will never visit again because of the terrible service. The first time my friends and I went, the waiter did not take our order for 30 minutes. When he finally did, they brought us half of the order after keeping us waiting for over an hour. They did not apologize for the wait either. By the time we ordered the rest of the items he decided not to bring us, we were there for over 3 hours! But I wanted to give them a second chance, so when I went again, the service was that much worse. It took even longer, they got the order all wrong, and decided to charge us EXTRA. When I pointed out that they overcharged the bill by about 10 dollars, the server got angry! We did not leave a tip and told them we would not be returning because of the horrible service. All in all, sometimes good food does not make a restaurant worth going to. I pay to enjoy my meal, not be treated like garbage. Dont visit this place.
We were left at a table with drink menus but no food menu. Server stopped by quickly to take drink order but left no menus. It took 15 minutes to catch someone's eye to get food menus. That set the tone for the whole dinner. It was hard to get anyone's attention to place an order, they would visit neighbouring tables then not make eye contact at our table, and not return to take orders. I ordered hot and sour lemongrass soup, but when someone finally dropped it on the table in passing, calling out "lemongrass soup", they left the wrong soup. No one stopped by to check how everything was. Food was reasonably tasty, but the sushi rolls are very heavy on the mayo. We gave up trying to get someone to notice us so we could order icecream for dessert. When someone eventually asked if we wanted our bill we said yes and got out of there! With all the new AYCE sushi places in Burlington, I won't be back to Asano!!
I've been here twice within 1 month. First time with family, the second time with friends. I dragged my non-sushi-eating friends, and they really enjoyed the food. I've ordered a variety of food ranging from: rolls, rice, terriyaki, sashimi, soup, handroll, gyoza, tempura, salad, ice cream. By far, my favourite is the 'Spicy Crispy Handroll'. You must try it. Thumbs up for Asano.!
