Any small business will measure their success in the first two years. But for some new ventures like The Helm Clothing, success can come almost immediately. Since August of 2012, this boutique has advised and supplied many of Edmonton’s gentlemen with new styles on the cutting edge of fashion.

The Helm clients are lawyers, bankers, business owners and physicians, but the age range is quite wide. Both young professionals and industry leaders come by the shop to sharpen their image.

“We thought that the hardest part of a small business would be getting clientele,” says co-owner Brad Kahler. “But it seems that there was a real hunger for a personalized menswear boutique staffed by knowledgeable people who love their job.” Brad has always been interested in fashion, which was part of the reason he partnered with Chad to start their own shop.
