Came in on a Friday night - the place was packed. Pleasantly surprised with the quick service. Our server was efficient and very friendly. I had the Halibut Salad and my friend had the haddock fish & chips (under $5!) and we both loved our food. We will definitely go back....soon!
Haven't been here for years and I regret that. Halibut special the night I was there included garlicy skewerd shrimp. Fish are top notch. Waitresses are very old school. One ofthe top fish and chippers in this end of the province.
If you crave real fish and chips this is thee place to go. Fish comes sizzling out of the fryer with a crunchy and tasty breading. The halibut is tender, flakey and fresh. We usually go to the Front Street location so were surpised to find that the location on Huron CHurch was carry-out only. Comparing this to other restaurants of similar style and price, you won't find a better one anywhere. It's not fancy but it's great. We moved to Arizona two years ago and put Sir Cedric's on the top of our list of things to do when we visit.
This is average fish, very mediocre side dishes, average service, and average ambience in every way. If you're craving fish fry, this will do the trick, but I doubt it will have you begging for more.
An excellent restaurant and good value for your money. You won't be disappointed. We have gone here for nearly 30 years, and the food is always delicious.
Simply the best Fish & Chips I have ever had. Server piping hot, great flavor, not greasy, malt/ white vinegar on side. Crisp cole slaw with oil/vinegar, fresh roll real butter, icey soft drink. Also great pies for desert. I have been going for > 20 years. The also offer a broiled halibut with veggies for the health concious.
French fries weren't hot, halibut had zero flavor and wasn't cooked especially well. Clam Chowder was very thin but good flavor. Restaurant was very bland overall.
The cod and fries were excellent, very tasty. Our drinks were cold. Our order was ready within 10 minutes, fastest I have had in a restaurant. The restaurant was nice inside.
They have the best fish and chips anywhere. We have been to England and they are even better than the Halibut dinner we had there. Highly recommend. Not greasy, not fishy. Overall Excellent. I have been going there for over 30 years and haven't had a bad meal ever. We have turned many others who didn't like fish over to loving halibut.
Simply put, this is as good as it gets for Fish and Chips. Not excactly the healthiest meal but pretty darn tasty!
Simply the BEST Halibut Fish & Chips. I've been eating there for 40+ years, it is always a highlight of our trip from Dayton to Toronto! I'm a fourth generation lover of Sir Cedric's Fish & Chips (It was Steve & Eddy's when I was a little girl) LOVE IT!!!!! Family style dining room, not very fancy, but the best beer batter halibut!!!
The Halibut and Chips are the BEST!!! We live in Michigan and any time we go thru Windsor, we make sure to stop at Sir Cedric's - The BEST fried Halibut you will ever find. We have nothing like it here in MI. It's worth the trip if you love great fish and chips. Nice family style atmosphere, casual, and the food is FANTASTIC!
