Grilled calamari was rubbery and over cooked...what a disappointment..should have expressed this to staff...came with choice of two potatoes, rice or vegetables..potatoes were ok, vegetables were boiled...no flavour Music was loud Not busy yet waitress was never around and it took 20 minutes to get a coffee Overall a disappointing waste of strip...
This is my favorite restaurant and i go here all the time!!! Went with some friends last night and we all had an amazing time!!! Love the atmosphere it is sooo cool and classy <3
The Astoria has been around for over 30 years and now I know the reason why....THE FOOD! The food is to die for, best Greek on the Danforth. If you are not from Toronto and are looking for authentic greek this is the place to go. Large portions at fair prices but most of all great food. Thank you for a great experience, I will be back :)
After noticing many good reviews about this restaurant, we decided to give it a try. Upon entry, I found the restaurant to have pretty good atmosphere. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and were seated. We noticed that our server was not in a very good mood - most likely tired from the days work. Nevertheless, the service was pretty quick (the restaurant was empty at the time). When it came to food. I was pretty disappointed. We ordered chicken souvlaki and lamb souvlaki. The chicken was good but the lamb was horrible. The potatoes and rice were just ok as well. The salad was fresh. I wouldn't visit the restaurant again mainly because of the food.
I can't believe I'm the first to rate Astorias. Run to this place. The best souvlaki on the Danforth, trust me, Professional wait staff and Greek chefs. Great portions, great service. Regards, Stuart.
It's been a while since I visited this restaurant but I loved everything I had! The chicken souvlaki was phenomenal; I look forward to going back and trying a few other dishes!
I picked up a deal on webpiggy $15 for $30 worth of food. Checked this place out for the FIRST TIMEEE AND LOVEED IT!! I will def visit this rest again!
It is hard to be objective or fair, when everything from the service to the food was probably the worst that we ever had, we have been going to this restaurant for many years, we drive down from Pickering and we go to one of the restaurants on the danforth. We unfortunately choose this one. The waiter was cranky and unfriendly, and people who came in 15 minutes after us, were served their food first, the same thing we ordered. The salad was wet and tasteless, the lamb horrible, rice and pototoes were tasteless, the baklava was cardboard with honey on it. The only thing that was good was the greek coffee .All and all, an awful experience for $85.00. And to top it off , no debit, had to walk to a variety store to get cash. I have never written a review, but I felt I had to warn people not to spend their hard earned money there.
The pork souvlaki came with complementary bread, salad, and french fries. The bread was the only tasty food that came with this meal. Firstly, the salad was very moist and tasted as if it were sitting for hours. Secondly, the pork was very oily and also tasted old. Finally, the french fries were very dry and soggy. The food must have been sitting for several hours before it was served. I currently have a stomach ache and I feel nauseous, I have no doubt that the food they served me was sitting for hours. All in all, the only good thing about this restaurant is that the portion size is very fair.

This shish kebob house serves up a mean chicken souvlaki! The chicken is marinated to reach peak tenderness, served with a fresh Greek salad and a choice of roasted potatoes, savoury rice, French fries or fresh vegetables. You can also get the chicken souvlaki in a sandwich.
