So overpriced for very ordinary food quiches, sandwiches, soups, salads. Food was too salty, staff rude, keep forgetting our dishes and the place - cafetaria style where they warm the food in microwave - was empty!! The one star is for their patio.
We thought we would try this place for lunch a few days ago and are still talking about how horrible our experience was. Although the bread was fresh, there was nothing interesting or even flavorful about the sandwich I had. The turkey pot pie the staff recommended was microwaved for 2:30 minutes and was still cold in the middle. And it was almost $40 for the two of us! The staff working seemed disinterested and was unhelpful We would have had better food and service at a fast food sandwich shop. We absolutely do NOT recommend this place.
The Epicurean was a beautiful place to dine for our honeymoon. However, if you go to this restaurant hungry, you will probably leave hungry, too. The portions were small for the price of the meal. The atmosphere was amazing. The patio was a great place to enjoy a meal!
I would consider going back for lunch, rather than dinner.
I find Niagara on the Lake pretty overwhelming, what with the crowds and the overdose of kitsch. However I always stop at the Epicurean to enjoy a nice lunch on their spacious patio. It's a great place for a meal or a snack, whether you want to settle it or just take a break and pore over your evening options.
