this place makes sure you wont leave hungry. wings and ribs are exellent. Good for catered functions. had their food many times. rack of ribs was large. bigger than the plate .
If have been going to Sammy's since day one, it Brantford's version of the hit TV show Cheers. Great place to share some laughs with good friends . Overall the food is always good with great portions, needs a make over
Place is small unkept & it smells. No healthy food on menu. Very greasy food. There are plenty of other restaurants similar to this one that would get higher praise.
The spinach dip was actually pretty good, but I found the service to be indifferent and unfriendly. The place was pretty dirty and the back room smelled like pee. Sorry, but I wouldn't visit again.
Although Sammy's looks like a hole in the wall, the line-up out the door shows you how popular this place is. The food was excellent with more then generous portions, the staff was great and very attentive, our service was fast and the meals were hot. We went with another couple and our kids, the variety of kids meal choices was excellent and they were very accommodating to changes for the kids. I would definitely go again and recommend Sammy's Rec Room to family and friends.
Food and beer are fairly inexpensive, I guess that is why this place is popular. But the food was average at best, and I found the tables and washrooms to be very very unclean which made me wonder what the kitchen looked like! The servers were indifferent and not very friendly. We would definitely NOT visit again.
Gone several times with friends. Food is cheap and plentiful, staff is friendly. Could be a bit cleaner and some of the tables and that are worn in the back, but nothing too bad.
I am from Nova Scotia and I am soooo very happy to finally have a place where you get get traditional pub food. This place beats out any other competitor you can think of. If you want Excellent food, Out of this world prices then go here. We take new friends every week.

This little place has good food, and word has got around on the good prices and the quantity of food. HOWEVER they need to clean up the place as it appears to be quite dingy at times.
Sammys has been a place our entire family (mom/dad and four grown children plus spouses) since our sister and her husband discovered Sammys over 2 years ago. We visited this particular occassion to celebrate my mom's birthday. As usual all of the food was delicious. Very generous portions allowed us all a meal the next day! We can't say enough about the ribs-so good, naturally smoky and just enough sauce! Sammys just so happens to be the only bar we know of that offers "red leaf" beer on tap. Its a Canadian indie brew that is so good my sister who never drinks beer -has converted to a part time beer drinker, and red leaf lover. The combo of good service, food and drink makes this place a good choice always.
My wife and I eat at Sammy's fairly regularily. The food and prices keep us coming back. The only thing it is a little on the grimey side. A little soap and water would help.

They only grilled one half of my grilled cheese...not really a difficult meal to put together...
Sammy's is great. Nice small, friendly atmosphere...its a great neighbourhood bar. The food is great and the microbrewed beer is cheap and tastes great!
Sammys is a great place and we are regulars the food is great and SO reasonable. There are only a few complaints, since it's become so popular it can get very busy and a little dirty, sometimes the girls seem to leave tables far too long before sitting their waiting guests. BUT for all those driving by and seeing a line up know this...we wait in line happily knowing that soon our bellies will be full and we'll still have money left in our wallets...Open another Sammy, you know it'd be packed too!!!
This place is incredible, food is GREAT, portions are amazingly large, price is really goo, service is excellent, sometimes it's TOO busy, but thats because they are so awsome.
