Our 2nd time here in two years with our family and the food was bad, cold, greasy and moldy meat balls in Italian wedding soup..likely freezer burn. I told waiter to take my food back and the rest of the family refused to finish there food. A bloody waste of $88.00
I went with me wife twice to this specific location in Aurora and the first time I ordered Hell kitchen plate , after waiting 45 minutes the order came wrong and the chicken was breaded chicken fingers covered with the sauce while it should be grilled chicken. Second time I took all my family members, and my wife ordered pasta , after waiting 55 minutes her pasta came so hard and crunchy, my daughter cheese pizza was so cold and my other daughter fries was cold as well.
Great value good service and good portions. I often get the pasta package for one, minus the little dessert (way to full for it!!). Its only $15.99 & gets you an entire meal w/ drink too. we always have left overs cuz like most we end up filling up on salad, soup and that yummy warm endless garlic bread! We usually get a side of parm to butter n dip the bread in yum! I often order the pasta with half spicy arabata sauce and half bolognese and add veggies to the dish. Been to multiple locations and they are consistent.
If there is ever a fussy person, it is me. And after my first visit to this location of East Side Marios, lets just say I am VERY impressed. Excellent service, food and overall everything. I enjoyed the location in Newmarket but enjoyed this one even more. Thank you for a great experience. This VERY fussy customer was impressed.
This was the worst immitation of Italian food I have ever tasted in my life. I don't know how food this bad could possibly be so expensive. The tomato sauce was purple and like glue. When I took a piece of pasta from the sauce you could actually see the indent of where it was. And the sauce was Tomato sauce, tomato's are red, how was the sauce purple?! Food this bad should be dirt cheap, but looking at the price, you think you're dining in a top quality resturant. I don't know how food could be this bad. Based on how bad it is, you would think a kid is head of the kitchen! There are many, many places to get much better food for half of the price. A true embarressment to Italians and Italian food.
I just want to say to everyone reading, East Side Mario's does take reservations, and the management has changed in recent months and the staff has almost done an entire flip, the service is better and the food is rarely over 20 minutes in the making. With the new uniforms and new menu a new ambiance was created, and I think that the service and the food hasn't been better. Just a little note though, complaining about the wait time to a staff member isn't going to affect how fast you get a table, it is going to make the people working there angrier, because they are already stressed trying to get everyone a table as fast as they can. If it's anyones fault for long wait times it's the people who sit around at their tables for hours after they are done their meals. I'm not trying to say that you can't relax and enjoy your stay there, I'm saying on a Friday or Saturday night, for everyone's sake, after you are finished all your food, don't stay for another 35-40 minutes, it slows the entire restaurant down, and everyone gets angry. I would know this because I work in a restaurant.
WHat happened?! ESM used my favourite restaurant, I just love their garden salad! It really has gone downhill a lot lately. Food was okay, salad and bread where quick to arrive, however it took an hour for our entrees to come out. Server kept telling us it was on it's way, just about ready etc...it wasn't her fault at all. But 1 hr was just an unacceptable wait for food (thats probably alredy mostly prepared anyway) Chicken parm was ok, my stuffed chicken was disapointing. Goats cheese didn't taste like goats cheese, chicken was dry and skin was greasy. Also, there were 8 tables around us that were dirty and not cleaned at all the whole time we were there. I heard another family dining offered a small discount for their wait, we got nothing.I would go back if I was craving their salad, but thats about it!
Portions are much smaller than what I remember from a few years ago. Salad was rather bare and the meat from the pasta tastes akin to microwave/frozen meat. Service was teenaged-angst, arrogant and peevish. Felt deliberately ignored throughout meal because one of my party requested decaf & not regular coffee.
I cannot remember the first time we visited, but you had only been open a short time. The young man who waited on us, (unfortunately I cannot remember is name) was excellent. You could not have asked for better service. The meal I ordered was excellent. The second time we visited, I actually asked to be seated in the same area so we could have the same waiter.
I am a regular customer here. The food is always presented/cooked great, always familiar. I think the experience you encounter here will depend on who your server is. Sometimes the service is good, other times okay... that's the waitress, not the kitchen. I've always been satisfied with the food.
We waited for ages to get a table because you do not take reservations, but once we were seated, our waitress was happy, very professional and fast, the food was really well presented and tasty and we had a great experience. Will definitely go back.
Food was excellent!! Love the salad and bread given before the full meal,,,very very good :) Will visit again :)!
Great service, food excellent, portions a little smaller than I would like
the service was absolutely lousy, we waited alost 20 minutes (in the bar) had to go looking for a server or bartender. the food finally arrived 45-50 minutes after sitting down ( and these were just appetizers). The calamari was good but the nachos just did not make the grade. There was hardly any cheese on them and the toppings were mostly on one side. They also did not seem to be very fresh, somewhat on the stale side. Not worth the price.
In general i find East Side Marios food to be average. This one was no exception. We live near here so we tried it out one day and were very very dissapointed by the service. In our situation we wouldnt blame it on the wait staff specifically as they were too busy for the amount of customers. food was slow to arrive and waitstaff didnt check up on us as often as they should of.. poorly managed.
We ordered from home to pick up 20 minutes later. We got there 30 minutes later just to make sure we wouldn't be wasting time waiting. But yes we did wait for at least 10 minutes, maybe 15(it felt like 25) for somebody to show up at the pick up counter. Unbelievable, the food was ready all this time. I never liked the food there but my dauthter likes one pasta dish. I dont want to go ever again. Hopefully, my daughter can enjoy something else to eat
We waited 1 1/2 hours just to get a beverage. The order finally arrived after 2 hours and two of the meals (seafood linguine) was overcooked and had the wrong sauce on it. (Extremely spicey) We sent them back and ordered spagetti (thought it would be quick enough to have us eating with the rest of the group) which took another 40 minutes to arrive. Other meals in our group were also overdone and unappetizing. While watching the kitchen, a hamburger sat there for over 1/2 before being served to the patron... yuk!! After all that they charged us for the children's meals (which are free on Mondays). They did adjust the bill but didn't offer any other discounts for the losey service... Needless to say, we left no tip, which is a first for us.
