King's BBQ & Chinese Food invites you to their establishment. They are open late all week and are readily reachable by bicycle. They are situated in a neighborhood filled with restaurants, stores and parks.
The owner, Anna, is lovely. The food is delicious, the variety is great. They serve authentic Chinese food and more Canadianized versions. All of which are tasty. Their crispy fried chicken, kung pao chicken, and pork in black bean sauce are all personal favourites. Several friend have tried and true favourites of their own, including ginger beef and a tofu dish that I can't remember at the moment.
Unbelievably bad service and average food. The service was simply comical and the food was uninspiring. I've had worse meals but I can't remember when. The best part was the owner's dishonesty about mixing up our order. Not recommended
I have enjoyed many dishes here and they all have one thing in common; they are fresh and delicious! I enjoy the wonton soup, kung pow chicken (with cashews, mmm!), the Chinese fresh vegetables with fish, the chicken curry, shrimp rolls, and their duck dishes. Anna is always happy to suggest something I have not tried, and offers choices that she knows I will like! My children enjoy the chicken balls (that are indeed mostly chicken, with light batter) and the steamed vegetable dishes. I have brought people here who do not normally eat Chinese food and they start with the combo dishes and are happy they tried something new! Very fresh food, healthy, and reasonably priced in a nice dining atmosphere! I try to make it here once a week if possible.
