When a Quote is NOT a Quote: We got a quote from Matt of Vernon Roofing. The day before the job was to start Matt called, said he made a mistake and under estimated square footage of shingles and had to order 100 sq. feet more. The day of the job, he had a few other “lame” excuses why he invoiced us $262.50 more than the written quote. Whatever errors he allegedly made were not our fault, and we should not have had to pay for them.
You were provided an ESTIMATE based on your own calculations "Ball park" The actual measurements were slightly higher than your estimated idea. Pitch and overhang must be considered.
