At Abode Restaurant, the emphasis has always been on comfort. And since their grand opening in May of 2013, the West End eatery (connected to the historic Blue Horizon Hotel) has been providing exactly that to both locals and out-of-town guests, thanks to their friendly staff, cozy surroundings and eclectic menu. On offer is a wide variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner items created by former Heather Hospitality Group chef Tannis Smith.
“We want to do comfort food," explains manager Andrew Dolan, "and we want to do it locally — things you might remember having when you were a kid — while also experimenting with interesting ingredients and flavouring. Tannis is so creative. I've worked with a number of chefs over the years, and her ideas — the stuff she can throw together off the top of her head — she has such a good mind for flavours."
