Tera V prides itself on cooking delicious vegetarian fare, and while customers can choose from an extensive array of wraps and smoothies, it’s the burgers that bring people from across Vancouver to this Kitsilano joint. There are two choices of basic burger: the traditional “no bull” burger that was voted Vancouver’s Best Burger by Le Burger Week judges, or a lighter tempeh patty. Toppings range from honey mustard sauce to tangy salsa and veggies.
Tera V Burger offers the same “mmmm” quality of a McDonald’s or a Vera’s, but without the guilt. Ethical, sustainable and vegetarian-friendly, this burger joint sources their ingredients from local farms while the packaging they come in is 99 per cent biodegradable. The menu also offers paninis, wraps and salads, but it’s the burgers that bring the crowds. Choose from seven different options – all vegetarian – and pair with baked fries and a freshly made fruit smoothie.
More than a restaurant, a movement, they say. Tera V not only makes a delicious array of tofu and tempeh veggie burgers, but the owners are also dedicated to running a sustainable restaurant that uses recyclable, compostable material and chemicals that are natural and biodegradable. The potato and yam fries served with your burger are baked, not fried, and you can taste the freshness of the (mostly) locally sourced ingredients.
