Wonderful service, the kindest service staff and most professional presentation. Will be back
This restaurant was magnificent, the service was impeccable and the food, divine absolutely rated five stars to a T ...go there!! It is amazing!
Dined here on August 29, 2019. Ordered Chateaubriand for two. This dish is a little pricey at $90, but worth it. Steak was very tender and vegetables were tasty and nicely presented. The house Californian red wine (Berringer)was quite good for a house wine. Our waiter Michael was very pleasant and attentive without being obtrusive. Over-all a very enjoyable meal.
If you are looking for an elegant place to dine--linen tablecloths and napkins--this is the place. A little expensive, but so worth it. Excellent food (we had the greek salad and the lobster, soooo delicious!).
We’ve been coming here for over ten years with friends, sometimes with family, and often to celebrate a special occasion. We have never been disappointed. Best ribs in Barrie! House salad is delicious. Bertrand provides exceptional service, even magic tricks! Steve always makes a point to stop at our table to say Hello and to ensure everything is to our liking. Would highly recommend.
After so many years, still doin it right!
Dont waste your money. We went here for barrielicious and still ended up paying over $100. The menu was terrible. Starters were soup or house salad. Obviously we ordered apps off the regular menu which were very over priced for the portion and quality. Our main course was disgusting I can't believe they call this place a steak house. The place felt very old and dirty and that is exactly how the food felt. The only good thing was the super nice and friendly waiter. The rest so very very bad. Please save your money.
What can I say. Absolutely no comparison to the "other" steak house in town. My wife had the 8oz NY done to perfection. Medium well but fork tender and full of flavor. Along with the baked potato, vegges, pickle tray and sesame seed garlic bread you definitely won't leave hungry. The starter was the house salad with their creamy Greek dressing. Excellent. I also had the house salad followed by the Scallops which are done in a Salsa based sauce and were fantastic. And these were Sea Scallops, not the small Bay Scallops that most restaurants offer. Accompanied by roasted potatoes, vegges, sesame seed garlic bread and the pickle tray. The service was impeccable and all the staff made us feel at home. For those that say it is pricey or expensive here, you really haven't done your homework. Our meal including drinks was a hair over $80. Great value for an outstanding meal. Best of all, unlike the "other" steak house, we were able to make reservations for Saturday night, didn't have to wait an hour in the bar and no screaming kids. We are definitely coming back.
We were referred to this place by a friend of mine who lives in Barrie. We live in Toronto and finally visited this steakhouse. I never had a better steak ever. I ordered a 24 ounce porterhouse steak. Perfectly cooked and amazing flavor. The service was awesome. The waiter was so professional and was enjoyable to talk too. For dessert we had a flamed dessert prepared by our table. Never seen that before and it was mouthwatering. Overall, the best steak and experience ever. I am not a typical computer junkie but i had to get on here and write about this place.
This restaurant was recommended to us so we decided to take our friends out for a Saturday night dinner. We began with 3 French Onion and one Clam Chowder....only 2 soups came while the other 2 waited for theirs. All soups were barely warm and two of the 3 onion soups tasted like vinegar. The garlic bread was so saturated wiith butter and oil it was unedible. The ribs were covered in sauce to mask the burnt meat. The ribs were suppose to have choice of rice or potato but we didn't get the choice and the free pickle tray never arrived either. When we received the bill we were shocked to find the garlic bread and salad that was suppose to come with the ribs ....we were charged extra for them. The server rarely came to our table to ask if all was well and when we told him the soups were cold, he told us to enjoy! Never will we eat here again.
The Town and Country Steakhouse is one of those restaurants that has been around for a long time and enjoys a reputation for excellence. Often times, this type of restaurant falls short of their reputation but this one absolutely does not. We chose this place out of many restaurants in Barrie to have our Christmas gathering. The service was amazing and there were no mistakes made. The owner even came to our table to ensure we had a good meal and great dining experience. The steak was wicked good. A lot of us are quite picky about steak choices but this one exceeded our expectations. The complimentary pickle/olive tray was unexpected and a really nice addition to before the main course. We also were given complimentary garlic bread (yummy)! I could go on and on about the whole experience but to sum it up, I have been to every fine dining restaurant in our city and this one really impressed me. Our whole group had nothing but positive things to say. We will definitely be returning on a regular basis. Thanks to the team at Town and Country for making our evening a wonderful one!!!
I don't order steak,,,my husband ordered and he gave me a bit..I ended up ordering a rush on a steak and wow it was absolutely amazing...definately going back.
We visited the Town and Country last night 08/29/2010) and left very disappointed. When our orders were brought to the table, one order was wrong ( ordered Lamb and received a steak ). I ordered a medium rare steak and it came well done ( I had checked with the sever before ordering as to what was a Medium Rare steak). Sent it back and received a steak which one would normally receive if one ordered steak and eggs in a Diner. The replacement steak was much smaller and was no where close to the advertised 8 oz steak. Our server should have refused to send the second steak to the our table, but at this point my evening was ruined and I was not about to upset the rest of our party. My steak was tough, was not properly trimmed and was not juicy as advertised by our server when I initially ordered. Another member of our table also ordered the 8 oz New York, it was tough and also small. Given the price that is charged ( $24 for the New York steak ), it is far too high for what is served. Another point which surprised me, there were no vegetables served with the meal. Choice of potato or rice were the choices for the main course. The prices being charged sets an expectation of a much nicer meal. This restaurant advertises that Steaks are its specialty, and this statement was a long way from the truth in our case. It will be a long time before we think about going back ( if ever ) . Dave
We went to many restaurants for Barrielicious, this was by far the best. We had a choice of 10 entrees. We were all amazed that we actually got a full plate of food!!! Many others only give you a little sample and you leave hungry!! The service was great and fast. The food was excellent...the dessert was AMAZING!!!! We will all definately return.
My husband and I have eaten here several times. In the past, the experience was enjoyable and well worth the money. OH HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED AND IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY TOO!! The salad was little more than iceberg lettuce and dressing. My steak was so overcooked that the waitress was appalled There were 9 bones on the rack of lamb which left very little meat to eat. To make matters even worse, my husband's broccoli flower had a HAIR in it!!! I walked out and left my husband to pay the bill. We spend $80 at a place we will never patronize again nor will we recommend Town and Country to anyone we know. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!
The service here was very good, and I enjoyed the atmosphere and furnishings, our appatizer was good, it was a cheese which was set on fire in front of us. It was quite fun. The main course (lamb) was nothing special. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. However this place is famous for their stakes, so I would try it again, but I would get a steak next time. The desert was amazing, best baklava I've had.
We enjoyed another lovely dinner at the Town & Country Steakhouse. Our server was very friendly and did an excellent job. Our food was wonderful as always. To anyone who does not know, they have the most delicious creamy garlic salad dressing. It is famous!! We always bring our family and friends to our favorite restaurant, and will continue to do so.
My husband and I were in for dinner on Sat. nite. The restaurant was very busy, but the servers were very accomodating. We had a wonderful dinner, and the servers brought us a lovely complimentary anniversary dessert...the ambiance that nite was so lovely, we had 2 older gentlemen from another table serenading the entrire restaurant...it was the perfect anniversary dinner...thank you Town & Country for making it so memorable!!! Will definatly return!!
We hadn't been to the Town & Country for quite some time but decided to go for our anniversary. the servers were very friendly and accomodating. the food was excellent...very good presentation and probably the best rack of lamb i have ever had!!!! so tasty!!! Last but definately not least, for dessert we had the most amazing tiramisu cheesecake i have ever tasted and it was homemade!!! can't wait to go back
first time there. Felt like they skimmed out on the barrielicious menu. left hungry. good service, bad food. Canned vegetables. regular menu looked wayyy overpriced
