only positive was the waitress was nice. food was horrible. freezer burnt bun, burnt hamburger fries tasted days old so did gravy. never again.
My first time, not overly impressed. Got the french onion soup. The bread cubes were rock hard. The deep fried pickles not that fantastic. Wouldnt go back.
I cant believe the changes at the bluestar.. the pictures are amazing.. good touch.. it needed a womans touch.. kudos.. the new item choices they have are amzing.. me and my fiance tried them all . the prime rib was to die for, the loaded fries and loaded potato skins were omg melt in your mouth. we def will be back.. the staff seems much more happy .. what ever changes youve done bluestar keep it up.. theyare more happier then ever. I STRONGLY reccomend trying the PRIME RIB.. WAS AMAZING... DEF BE BACK... the staff is amazing...
I brought a friend visiting from out of town because she was interested in "fish and chips". I made the mistake of bringing her to the front of the restaurant. I wasn't familiar with the back entrance. It was muddy and miserable to find our way to the back door. The hostess at the door was pleasant and showed us to a table which proved to be too cramped. We moved at her suggestion to another one which was in front of the door. Bad choice. We got a draft every time the door opened. We had to move a third time, and I felt embarassed, but we had a baby with us. The meal was disappointing. My friend complained about the coleslaw. Neither one of us were impressed with the greasy fish. It was a busy day, but I'm sure the fish was double dipped in the fryer. The atmosphere is dark and not particularly inviting. I doubt that I would bring other people with me again. Would I come again on my own - maybe, but not for a long time. Sorry, I thought it would be good.
BEST RESTAURANT EVER!!!!!!!!! :)
I have been to the Blue Star three times in totall. The first time I went the meal I had ( a burger & fries) was just ok, the burger was dry. The second time I went I had a wrap...again ok, but too expensive for what you got. The third time I had yet again another wrap, this time a chicken wrap...bad idea!!!! The chicken was pink totally not cooked!! When I told the waitress not only did I get attitude but when I got my replacement meal, the chicken was dry as a bone...could not even bite it! Needless to say I left hungry that day and still got charged full price and no appologizes. I would not go back to the Blue Star if they paid me! Many better places to go in Welland
I gave this restaurant a second try on Sept 4, 2011. Was a busy day again and service and food did not improve since last time I went. Took 15 minutes before a waitress came to the table with a menu and I saw at least 4 waitresses, so they were around. Another 5 minutes before we got a drink. 3 of the 4 meals arrived cold, which is what I expected so didn't send it back. When the bill came, we were charged for an extra meal! 5 meals for a table of 4? Not sure how the waitress got that one wrong. I asked the waitress to get the manager and she said no and walked away. Never again will I go there, no matter what some people say about the place being good.
Ok first off the place needs a make over, what is with all the purple and statues in the back. The service is horrible, waiting for our bill for a long time and not getting asked what we wanted to drink when the menu was brought over. The soup taste different everytime, the chicken was left over, the veggies sucked, frozen I guess. Even the sald was bad, too much on the plate, cant mix the dressing it was just lettuce and onions and nothing much else.
I have been going to the Blue Star for many years and although the food has generally stayed the same, the waitresses have really declined. I don't want to complain about all of them because there is a few ladies that have worked there for years and they are still great, but the younger staff have a real attitude problem and they are the reason why we do not eat in at the Blue Star, strictly takeout from now on.
Always a great place to dine in Welland. It's starting to get a little expensive. When basic breakfast with coffee, tax and tip is almost $10, I won't be coming as often any more. Can't afford that a few days a week, even once a week.
I MUST SAY THAT THE BLUESTAR IS WONDERFUL PLACE TO TAKE YOUR FAMILY FOR DINNER. THE GIRLS THEY HAVE THERE ARE VERY NICE CHEERFUL AND CONSIDERATE. THEY MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR ONE OF THE FAMILY.. THEY JOKE AND LAUGH WITH YOU AND THE BIG GUY UP FRONT REALLY KNOWS HOW TO KEEP HIS CUSTOMERS HAPPY. OUR WAITRESS SUE WAS SO NICE.. VERY RESPECTFUL. GLAD TO SEE THEY STILL HAVE NICE WAITRESS' THERE AS ALWAYS .. THANKYOU AGAIN SUE WE WILL BE BACK...
