Love this place. Fish and Chips the specialty and they are great. But try the pan fried pickerel, oh my! Other menu items good too. We almost always go back to the pickerel.
Staff are fun, rather than formal. If Ken is there, he tries to take a minute to say hello, old or new customers.
This place reminds me of going for Fish + Chips in Toronto in the 60's. It's very small townish and simple in decor. The menu boasts many varieties of fish and seafood and they have added mussels not long ago. The food is served perfect temperature, and tastes as expected...Great ! The decor is a little tired and could use a freshening up. If Ken serves you; he's the owner and very cheery, then it's great. The older large woman waitress should should look for another job (maybe at the bingo hall) as she just doesn't cut it as a waitress. She doesn't talk pleasantly but groans and it's a huge turn-off. My wife and I come monthly, and always hope that this waitress called in sick or quit. Otherwise, I highly recommend Captain Ken's.

My wife and I came here for Fish and Chips. Great food - best Fish we've found in Ontario yet!
Great atmosphere, service was a little slow at times, though. I will come back here next time I'm in Penetanguishene (I hope I spelt that right!).
Wonderful atmosphere in a beautiful little town...
Wonderful atmosphere in a beautiful little town overlooking Georgian Bay. I love the fresh, well-made diner food and would defiantly recommend this to all who find themselves in Penetanguishene and in need of a good, satisfying meal.
