This is another chinese restaurant my family frequents, we order the authentic chinese dishes and they are always prepared very well. They also offer peking duck which most Chinese restaurants in London don't. They prepare lobster, crab and fish very well. Pretty good value for the money. The seafood won't break your bank either. The service is a bit iffy, when they are busy, you won't be seeing much of your server. Service is usually fast and friendly when the owner is tending to you. The younger staff there don't seem too friendly.
Contonese Chinese food comes from Hong Kong and, thus, is modified for a European taste - the food here has been, again, modified for a Canadian taste. Additionally, much of the food here is prepared beforehand, except the vegetables that, thus, is undercooked (not too bad), but the batter-covered shrimps were reheated. We orded a spring roll as an appetizer that had spent some time in a micro-wave oven (outside warm, inside scalding hot!). Then, it didn't arrive until ten minutes following the main dish. The lone waitress, sitting low behind the counter, had no interactivity with customers unless it was essential. It seems to be standard practice to advertise 'Sichuan & Cantonese Cuisine' but, having lived in Sichuan for many years, it isn't served here. There are many Chinese living in London - I wonder how many come here ... few, probably because they know where to find a 'Chinese' restaurant.
Great food, fantastic presentation. Despite the outside the inside isn't bad at all. Only place I go for Chinese in London (the food is great and I live 30 seconds away).
We have been eating at Golden Dragon for over 5 years, every 2 months or so. Always fresh, plenty (they don't skimp on the shrimp, scallops, crab), great service - but - pick up is the best way to get it fast! If you're in a hurry for delivery like some of the comments here - order a pizza!
Fantastic food, a little slow to come out, they deliver and it is very good.
The food is delicious and plentiful and inexpensive. Two people for lunch, stuffed and taking home doggie bags, is less than $10 total. Great take-out. Never had problems with service and have been there 15 to 20 times. The best hot and sour soup ever. One of our favourites.
If you want to try real Chinese food and atomsphere, this is a great place to go.~
The food is always great at Golden Dragon, but I have noticed a pattern every time we eat there, and that is that they ALWAYS forget to serve us one of the dishes we ordered. That has gone on there for years! If it weren't for the excellent food I'd be weary of going.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, the service was bad, they never came to ask if you needed anything, you would have to call them for anything, they messed up our second order, they gave us the same sheet to fill out, and they were the ones to mess up the orders. When we tried to get them to fix it, no one could speak english, luckily one of the guys could speak canto, they overcharged us because we didn't everything. If you're there just to order dishes, maybe it would be okay but dim sum is a big NO.
We placed our order at 6:20 p.m. and did not get our food until 8:00 p.m. We were asked to pay for our food when the order was placed. After an hours wait we wanted a refund but they would not oblige. This restaurant is pathetic and we will not be back in the future.
Great traditional Chinese food. The best in the city (and yes, we've tried them all!)
Authenic Chinese cuisine prepared to order, friendly staff, efficient service. Best Chinese take-out in London.
I consider this restaurant one of the best in the city. The spicy tangy chichen one of the best dishes ever!
Peking Duck is a must. this is definitely the best Cantonese restaurant in town. All the chinese people that i know in london think this is a great restaurant. although the food is bit overprice, but their great taste makes up for it. maybe people who give bad reviews to this restaurant don't know anything about chinese food (chicken balls are not chinese food)
I eat here once every couple months and it is great. Tastes great, and you get a lot for the money.
EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE FRESH/EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY FOOD NICE ATMOSPHERE CLEAN
We (a chinese family) have eaten here for years. The owners give GREAT Service and it has incredible authentic chinese food. If ever you doubt chinese food, pay attention to who eats there. The more authentic the food, the more chinese people you'll see there on the weekends.
I Don't know what this Josh character is thinking, but Golden Dragon is one of the best restaurants I have dined at in the past few weeks. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a good meal to go there. Great Food, Great Service, Great Prices.
Over priced. Bad tasting food. Very oily. Will not visit again
Disgusting, overpriced food. The restaurant smelled bad and the food looked and tasted disgusting.
